Manchester United are seriously considering launching a summer onslaught for young Southampton star Tyler Dibling.

The Exeter native is a Saints academy product who rose through the ranks to become a regular starter at the club.

This season, Southampton are enduring what might be one of the worst campaigns in the history of the Premier League, having only mustered 10 points from 31 fixtures thus far. Nevertheless, the club’s misery hasn’t detered suitors from pursuing the young Dibling who still managed to impress on a few occasions.

In fact, Saints’ official relegation has only solodified the interest in the 19-year-old winger who could be available at a cut price.

In recent weeks, the teenager has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd. Even Fabrizio Romano confirmed as much while describing the player as one of the best around.

For his part, Man Utd insider Sully added more weight to the story, revealing that the club’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, is leading the ongoing internal discussions on this front.

“I wouldn’t fully rule out Tyler Dibling. With Southampton now relegated and Tyler wanting to take a step up, there could 100% be found leeway for his asking price.” posted the journalist on his X account.

“Internal discussions at United have been made around Tyler in the last few weeks being lead heavily by Wilcox.”

Sully also confirms that, similar to Dibling, Liam Delap is high on the club’s shortlist. This suggests that the club could be looking to invest in young players who might be more affordable than other more established stars who have already entered their primes, the likes of Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.

While Delap is a classic centre-forward with an eye for goal, Dibling primarily plays as an inverted right winger. This season, he contributed with four goals and three assists in all competitions.
