The next few weeks will be crucial in terms of what FC Barcelona will want to do in terms of their transfer targets. After all, the Nico Williams operation did not bear any rewards and will be considered a failed operation. However, it is not the end of the world for Barcelona.

In reality, other options like Luis Diaz are still open and being considered by Barcelona. However, it remains to be seen what the 28-year-old Colombian winger wishes for in his future, but the links to an exit have definitely existed for quite some time.

As for his links to Barcelona or any other club in regards to his future, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the Colombian forward stated that nothing was guaranteed just yet:

“Nothing is certain yet. We’re talking with the board, I’m calm where I am, and we’ll see.”

However, these last few days have not been easy at all for the football world and especially those associated with Liverpool. The tragic passing of Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, a player for the Portuguese National team and Liverpool, has definitely proven to be a hard pill to swallow.

Speaking about the tragedy, Luis Diaz shared some heartfelt details about how he felt when the news of the accident reached him:

“It’s really hard to be hit with news like that… He was a key figure when I first arrived at Liverpool. He and his family welcomed me. We became close friends. I just want to send all my strength to his wife and children. It hurts deeply. When I woke up and saw the news, I truly broke down in tears.”

It remains to be seen what happens in the future, but it would be understandable to let Liverpool and their players grieve in peace for now. A loss like that can be traumatic for any club, and Barcelona or any other side looking to do business should respect that.

As for what the Catalan giants can do in the meantime, they can focus on returning to the 1:1 rule again. For Barcelona, other summer targets are still there, and the option of Marcus Rashford is still a possibility for La Blaugrana to pursue.
