Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign striker | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that highly-rated Shamrock Rovers forward Michael Noonan will join the club in January 2027.

The 18-year-old has signed a pre-agreement with Forest and will officially make the move on 1 January.

Noonan has been a regular feature for the League of Ireland side this season, scoring eight goals with Shamrock sitting second in the table.

The teenager has also gained European experience, featuring five times across Champions League and Conference League qualifying during the summer.

Forest chief football officer George Syrianos says Noonan had attracted interest from several clubs before deciding to make the move to the City Ground.

“Michael is a player we, along with a number of other clubs, have followed closely for some time, so we’re delighted he has chosen Nottingham Forest,” Syrianos said.

“Recruiting high-potential young players is central to our long-term vision for the academy.

“We want the academy to be a genuine pathway to the first team, and that means bringing in the right talent early and giving them a clear, individual plan to get there.

“Michael’s decision reflects the work Chris, Andy and everyone involved has put into developing and then sharing what that pathway looks like here.

“We look forward to welcoming Michael and his family to Forest and to supporting his development in the years ahead.”
