Tuesday night’s win over the Robins was another important three points for Kieran McKenna’s side, as they kept the gap to three points to leaders Leicester and remained ahead of Leeds.

It wasn’t the easiest of games for Ipswich, but they got over the line thanks to a very late winner from defender Leif Davis.

Davis has been a standout performer for Ipswich this season, and his performances don’t seem to be letting up, which will be great news for Nottingham Forest and West Ham, two sides who have been mentioned with possible interest this summer.

It was first reported by talkSPORT, that interest was starting to grow in Ipswich defender Leif Davis, with Newcastle United and West Ham United interested in the left-back.

Davis has been an Ipswich player since 2022, when the Tractor Boys brought him to the club from Leeds in a deal that was believed to be worth £1.2 million.

But as well as the Magpies and the Hammers being interested in Davis, it has also been reported by TWTD, that Nottingham Forest are also keen on the player.

This report went on to add that Ipswich are believed to want around the £20 million mark for Davis should he leave the club in the near future.

All three sides will be a concern for Ipswich, as at this moment in time they can offer Davis something Ipswich can’t, which is Premier League football. Another concern will be that Davis’ excellent performances don’t seem to be stopping, and that is surely going to invite transfer interest this summer.

Last season was Leif Davis’ first campaign with Ipswich Town, and the defender didn’t disappoint, as he grabbed three goals and recorded 14 assists to help the Tractor Boys reach the Championship.

So, his form in League One will have definitely caught the attention of many clubs, and stepping up to the Championship hasn’t been an issue at all for the player, as he continues to be crucial in both attack and defence.

So far, in this 2023/24 season, the 24-year-old has only got one goal to his name but has a staggering 14 assists. That one goal came in the recent win over Bristol City, another game that will have had Forest and West Ham pleased with what they were seeing and further encouragement to pursue a transfer deal in the summer.

As mentioned, Davis has been instrumental in both boxes for Ipswich this season, with his attacking output seeing him create 13 big chances for his team, as well as outperforming his xA, which stands at 7.89 and has also collected 2.9 key passes, as per SofaScore.com.

While in defence, the left-back has helped Ipswich keep seven clean sheets by averaging 1.2 interceptions per game, as well as 1.8 tackles per game, and has recovered the ball 4.7 times.

Davis has been outstanding for the Tractor Boys last season, and now this season, his performances for the club don’t seem to be easing up.

This is something that will be pleasing to Ipswich, as he is playing a big part in their pursuit of the Premier League, but it will also be a concern, as the more he performs, the more interest he is likely to get come summer.

But any doubts that these Premier League sides had about pursuing a deal for Davis will surely be put to one side now, as the defender just seems to be getting better and better as the games go on.
