Nottingham Forest are said to have been approached by representatives of striker Jhon Duran over a potential deadline-day switch.

The Reds want another forward before the seven pm cut-off, despite adding Napoli loanee Lorenzo Lucca to Sean Dyche’s options. According to TEAMtalk, Duran is keen on a return to England for the second half of the Premier League season, and his agents are working to find him a move.

The former Aston Villa striker is on loan at Fenerbahce from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, and a switch elsewhere remains possible. Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United were contacted last week about his availability, then contacted again with the chance to sign the 22-year-old restated before the window shuts.

Lille had looked a likely destination, but a deal collapsed. Fenerbahce, who Forest meet in the Europa League play-offs this month, are said to be willing to let him go, and there appears little prospect of a return to Saudi Arabia.

Zenit St Petersburg could be an alternative if a Premier League move does not materialise, though his camp are hopeful of English interest. Duran impressed during two years at Villa Park before a reported £71 million switch to Al-Nassr last January, and it has not worked out for him in Saudi Arabia or in Türkiye since.

Forest are also targeting a left-back and a midfielder to bolster Dyche’s squad for the second half of the campaign.
