Nottingham Forest must replace Elliot Anderson, with his £116 million move to Manchester City expected to be finalised this week after a medical. According to Nottingham Post, the sale provides funds but leaves a sizeable midfield gap.

Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall, 20, is understood to be open to a move amid concern over minutes under Roberto de Zerbi. With five years left on his deal, Spurs are said to want £45-50m.

Liverpool’s Curtis Jones saw a £21.5m Inter Milan bid rebuffed and a price near £40m has been mooted despite one year left on his deal. He offers proven Premier League nous, although that outlay is hefty for a player who could be a free agent in 12 months.

Inter’s Davide Frattesi, pursued by Forest in January, stayed after Jones did not move, and a fee around £26m has been suggested. At 26 he is experienced but untested in the UK, with a reported preference to stay in Italy and limited 2025/26 starts.

Forest had three bids for Celtic’s Arne Engels turned down. Celtic want upwards of £21.5m, a relatively modest sum, though competition is strong and he is said to be lower on Forest’s list.

Trabzonspor’s Christ Inao Oulai, 20, impressed after a 2025 switch from Bastia, earning an Ivory Coast World Cup call-up and interest from Chelsea, RB Leipzig and others. Dubbed the Ivorian Iniesta, he could dovetail with Sangare, yet the calibre of suitors may be the stumbling block.
