Nottingham Forest will make late calls on Matz Sels and Callum Hudson-Odoi before Friday's visit to Elland Road, with Stefan Ortega a possible debutant if Sels is not passed fit. According to Leeds Live, Sean Dyche will wait for medical guidance closer to kick-off.

Both sides are level on points, six clear of the drop zone. Forest are unbeaten in four after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, when Sels went off at half-time with a groin issue and Hudson-Odoi suffered a shoulder knock.

Dyche said Sels is still sore and further advice will be sought over the next 48 hours, so there is a chance he could play. He added Hudson-Odoi’s checks showed nothing too serious, but pain persists and a decision is due within 36 hours. He said Sels and other longer-term cases are trending the right way.

Ortega signed a short-term deal on Sunday and might debut if Sels is not cleared. Chris Wood remains out with a knee injury, while full-back Nicolo Savona is sidelined as a knee issue is managed under specialist guidance in a seven to 10-day window, with a review after the weekend.

Neco Williams is suspended after his dismissal against Palace, leaving a full-back call for Dyche. Ola Aina has been preferred at right-back and deadline-day signing Luca Netz could come in on the left after joining from Borussia Monchengladbach on a four-and-a-half-year contract. He has only just trained.
