Nottingham Forest visit Liverpool in a key Premier League lunchtime kick-off as they look to spark their season. According to Nottingham Post, Oliver Glasner’s side come into the 12.30pm match after successive defeats to Leeds United in the league and Carabao Cup.
Morgan Gibbs-White returns from a minor knee issue and captains the visitors, while Ibrahim Sangare misses out after a training knock. Club-record signing Liam Delap, who joined from Chelsea on Thursday for £45 million, starts on the bench alongside Chris Wood, with Ousmane Diomande and Ryan Yates among the substitutes. James McAtee lines up deeper with Xaver Schlager.
The teams emerged to a tribute to Kevin Keegan, applauded around Anfield, before kick-off. The game is under way.
Inside the opening minutes it is scrappy from both sides. Forest played back to Matz Sels from kick-off but he could not find a team-mate, and Liverpool threatened down the right only for the final ball to falter.
Forest have won on their last two visits to Anfield and this is their first away day of the season. They will hope to extend that sequence in challenging conditions on Merseyside.
