Nottingham Forest are ‘back in the hunt’ to sign Davide Frattesi after being namechecked for the Inter Milan midfielder last week.

Frattesi arrived at Inter from fellow Italian side Sassuolo in July 2023 under a loan agreement that included a mandatory obligation to buy clause.

The Nerazzurri subsequently completed the permanent signing in 2024 and tied the midfielder down to a four-year deal.

While Inter Milan’s recent success brought Frattesi two Serie A titles, the Italian struggled for regular minutes and often had to settle for a place on the bench.

The 26-year-old made 22 league appearances in the recent Serie A season, starting just three matches and finishing the season without a goal contribution.

The Italian could be set for a summer exit, with Nottingham Forest namechecked as a side for the midfielder amid interest from other clubs.

Now, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia (via Areanapoli.it) Nottingham Forest are ‘back in the hunt’ for Frattesi.

The Tricky Trees could be looking at the 26-year-old as a replacement for Elliot Anderson should he leave this summer after emerging as a target for Manchester City.

However, it has been suggested that Nottingham Forest will not have it all their own way, as Napoli are also keen on signing the Italian.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in Frattesi first surfaced during the winter transfer window, when the club made ‘contact’ for the midfielder.

The Tricky Trees were later tipped to make ‘further contact’ regarding a move for the Inter midfielder, but no deal materialised.

It remains to be seen when Forest will make an official move to secure the signature of Frattesi.

After a disappointing campaign, Vitor Pereira’s side are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer market as they look to rebuild and improve ahead of next season.
