Nottingham Forest have confirmed Oliver Glasner’s backroom team, with five new arrivals at the City Ground following his appointment as Vitor Pereira’s successor earlier this week.
The 51-year-old has brought assistant first-team coaches Emanuel Pogatetz and Michael Angerschmid with him from Crystal Palace, alongside assistant coach Michael Berktold, transition coach James Holland and goalkeeping coach Michael Gspurning. Glasner said he was delighted to reunite with trusted colleagues, highlighting shared values and work ethic, and expressed confidence they would have a major positive impact at Forest.
Angerschmid and Glasner were long-time teammates at SV Ried and later worked together at LASK, VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, with whom they won the Europa League.
Pogatetz played under Glasner at LASK, where he began coaching, then had spells with St. Pölten and Austria Wien before joining Glasner at Selhurst Park in 2024. His move to Forest is subject to the successful completion of the relevant visa process.
Berktold has previously worked with Glasner at LASK, Wolfsburg and Palace, contributing to the physical preparation and performance of his teams. Holland, a former Australia international, also arrives from Palace and specialises in player development, tactical preparation and individual performance.
Gspurning, a former Austria international goalkeeper, has served as a goalkeeping coach at Union Berlin and with the Austria national team.
