Nottingham Forest have appointed Theodore Giannikos as chief executive from one September, succeeding Lina Souloukou. She stepped down at the end of last season after 18 months at the City Ground.

The club said in a statement that Giannikos will oversee the delivery of the club’s long-term ambitions on and off the pitch.

He brings more than 20 years of senior experience in international football, alongside wide legal, governance and business development expertise.

Most recently he was FIFA’s Director of Strategic Partnerships & Media Projects, having earlier served as Director of Legal Strategic Projects and Director of Member Associations Services during a decade at the governing body.

Before FIFA, he spent nine years at Olympiacos as vice president and board member. He also sat on the European Club Association executive board from 2012 to 2016.

He has served as a Court of Arbitration for Sport arbitrator, been a member of various UEFA committees and a board member of European Leagues. He is a London School of Economics graduate and has worked across multiple business sectors in several countries within and outside Europe.
