Nottingham Forest have cut ticket prices by £10 for Thursday's Europa League last-16 first leg against Midtjylland at the City Ground, with refunds for those who have already bought. The move follows disappointing sales, with large areas of the stadium still unsold this morning.
The club said in a statement that it is an important night for everyone, the City Ground’s atmosphere can be decisive, and they want as many supporters of all ages to attend.
If they progress to the quarter-finals, the club’s third-priority membership, MyForest Core, would receive priority for any home leg if members have bought Europa League tickets, ahead of Core members who have not. Vitor Pereira’s side are looking to secure a quarter-final against either Stuttgart or Porto.
This has been one of the most expensive seasons to follow Forest after their first European qualification in three decades. Trips to Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal and Türkiye, and initial adult prices of £50 to £70 for European games, have added to the cost.
Sales have been slower than anticipated, with crucial Premier League games against Fulham and at Tottenham Hotspur immediately after the Midtjylland ties. Forest already faced Midtjylland in the league phase, and the Danish side have already won 3-2 at the City Ground earlier in the competition.
