Nottingham Forest suffered a fresh injury worry at Chelsea as Morgan Gibbs-White was forced off in the second half. According to Nottingham Post, he departed in the 66th minute after coming on at half-time.
The midfielder was hurt in a clash of heads with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, received on-pitch treatment and had his head bandaged before Chris Wood replaced him. The Reds will hope he is fit for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Aston Villa.
Earlier, defender Zach Abbott left as a concussion substitution in the first half following a head collision with Jesse Derry. Referee Anthony Taylor awarded Chelsea a penalty for Abbott’s challenge, but Matz Sels saved Cole Palmer’s spot-kick.
By then, Forest were two goals up through a Taiwo Awoniyi strike and an Igor Jesus penalty. In the second half, Awoniyi added a third, finishing a Gibbs-White pass.
Forest were without Murillo, Ibrahim Sangare, Dan Ndoye and Ola Aina at Stamford Bridge. It is not known whether they will be available for the trip to Villa Park on Thursday.
