Nottingham Forest can still secure 15th on the Premier League’s final day as they face Bournemouth at the City Ground, with merit money riding on the outcome.

According to Nottingham Post, clubs earn more for every position climbed and the per-place figure varies year on year. Last season bottom club Southampton received between £2.6m and £2.7m, alongside roughly £100m in other distributions. About £90m in broadcast income is shared equally among the 20 clubs, with a further £7.9m from central commercial streams.

Teams also receive facility fees based on how often they are selected for television, meaning the most broadcast sides generally collect more from that pool.

Arsenal are set for the biggest cut after winning their first league title since 2004, estimated at about £54m. Runners-up Manchester City are projected to receive roughly £2.7m less.

The approximate merit list puts Crystal Palace 15th on £16.2m and Nottingham Forest 16th on £13.5m. The final order will be settled across 10 simultaneous kick-offs today.
