Ramon Hendriks and his representatives have paused contract negotiations with VfB Stuttgart, according to Sky Germany.

He is said to have been offered an extension, but his camp stepped away as the terms fell short of expectations.

A renewal beyond 2028 is considered only if Stuttgart significantly improve the financial package.

Despite the impasse, Stuttgart are understood to be planning with the centre-back and are not seeking a sale this summer.

An offer in the region of 50 million could prompt the Bundesliga side to consider a transfer.

Hendriks, 24, joined from Feyenoord in 2024 and has become an important figure in the heart of Stuttgart's defence.

Primarily a centre-back, he can also operate on the left side, and he was linked with Nottingham Forest earlier this year.
