Nottingham Forest will start the 2026-27 Premier League season at home to Leeds United, with early tests quickly following for Vitor Pereira’s side.
According to NY Times, Forest visit Liverpool in their second match, host Tottenham Hotspur a week later, then return to the West Midlands to face Aston Villa on 12 September.
That Villa trip offers an immediate chance to respond to last season’s Europa League semi-final, when Forest were beaten 4-1 on aggregate by the eventual winners. It is also their fifth consecutive top-flight campaign.
Pereira was Forest’s fourth head coach of last season, following the sackings of Nuno Espirito Santo, Sean Dyche and Ange Postecoglou. A stronger second half under him delivered 16th and no European football this term.
December looks gruelling, with away games at Sunderland, Manchester United on Boxing Day and Newcastle on 30 December, interrupted only by Everton’s visit on the weekend of 19-20 December.
The run-in includes title holders Arsenal away on 15 May, then Ipswich Town at home on 23 May, before a final-day trip to Frank Lampard’s promoted Coventry City on 30 May. Pereira has said he believes the squad can build towards more than another relegation fight this season.
