Nottingham Forest open talks to sign Barcelona target Luis Suarez | OneFootball

Luis Suarez (28) could be set for a move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest, according to a report from French media L’Équipe.

The Colombia international excelled at Sporting CP last season, netting 38 goals in 53 matches. He effectively replaced the goal output of Viktor Gyokeres, who joined Arsenal last summer. And like the Swede, Suarez could be on the move following a prolific campaign in Portugal. He had emerged as a target for La Liga giants Barcelona, who remain in the market for a centre-forward following the departure of Robert Lewandowski earlier in the summer.

However, he could instead sign for Nottingham Forest, who have now opened talks to sign the Colombian forward, who remains under contract with Sporting CP until 2030. Suarez joined Olympique de Marseille back in 2023 but would spend just half a season at the Vélodrome following his €10m move. He made just 11 appearances, scoring three times, before joining Almería on loan; his move to the Spanish side became permanent at the end of that campaign.
