Nottingham Forest have entered the race for Bologna winger Dan Ndoye, who is also Napoli’s top target for the summer (h/t journalist Gianluca Di Marzio).

The Partenopei have been locked in talks with Ndoye for several weeks, having already sealed a deal for his Bologna teammate Sam Beukema.

Despite securing a verbal agreement with the Swiss international, the Partenopei haven’t made any convincing offer to his club, who want €40 million for him.

After the signing of Dutch winger Noa Lang from PSV Eindhoven, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has earmarked Ndoye as the next potential target to reinforce the attack.

Forest are looking to scupper Napoli’s plans after agreeing personal terms with Ndoye on a five-year contract.

Bologna sporting director Marco Di Vaio has insisted no acceptable offers have been made for Ndoye, and they are planning to extend his contract.

The 26-year-old looks ready to take the next big leap in his career after a productive season with the Rossoblu.

He bagged nine goals and six assists in all competitions, including the winning strike in the Coppa Italia final against AC Milan that ended Bologna’s 51-year trophy drought.

Forest are on the lookout for a new winger after selling Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United in a £55 million deal.

The Tricky Trees were chasing Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko, who has now joined Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

Liverpool’s Ben Doak and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho are among the options on Forest’s wishlist.
