Nottingham Forest did recent business with Italian giants Napoli this month to bring in striker Lorenzo Lucca.

The 25-year-old, who struggled to make his mark at Napoli after joining in the summer, has linked up with Forest on an initial loan deal.

The Premier League side also have strong interest in another Napoli man in the shape of Olivera, as they look to get further signings over the line before Monday night.

They put in a bid for Olivera, which Napoli considered to be too low, but are still keen.

Nottingham Forest have ‘been pushing hard’ for Olivera in recent days, according to Italian outlet AreaNapoli, but Azzurri boss Conte ‘doesn’t intend to give his approval’ to the move unless signings are made first.

Conte does not want to see his squad depth at Napoli reduced by letting Olivera go and not bringing in another body.

Despite Napoli being knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, Conte still has them sitting third in the Serie A table and with much to play for.

Napoli have a nine-point gap to make up on league leaders Inter Milan if they want to overhaul the Nerazzurri at the top of Serie A.

Nottingham Forest are continuing transfer work across several other areas and have seen Brighton turn down an offer for Yasin Ayari.

Brighton turned down Forest’s £20m offer, but the Tricky Trees are considering going back with a fresh proposal.

Sean Dyche’s side remain in a relegation battle and boast just a five point cushion over the bottom three in the Premier League.
