Nottingham Forest will demand a fee in excess of £80m for Elliot Anderson amid interest from Premier League rivals, but will not consider a sale in January.

Anderson is attracting interest from the Premier League’s top teams after an excellent period at the City Ground.

After helping Nottingham Forest to European football last season, Anderson has broken into the England set-up and looks to have nailed down a midfield role in Thomas Tuchel’s team ahead of the World Cup.

In the Premier League this season, Anderson leads the division for progressive passes and ranks among the leading players for fouls drawn, tackles won, touches, chances created and crosses.

Manchester United have made Anderson their priority target, but any deal is likely to have to wait until the summer. According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, any interested club will need to part with between £80m and £100m to sign the midfielder. Forest are aware of the interest and have already received enquiries.

“There will be enormous interest in Elliot Anderson, but it’s not going to happen in January,” Ornstein said to NBC Sports.

“The summer could be a completely different story. The fee that Forest will command is going to be in the region of £80m-£100m the way things are looking. There’s no release clause in his contract, but I do think Forest know that if the right price comes in, they’ll have to do business.

“He’s on a salary of £100,000-a-week. The clubs interested are (Manchester) City, (Manchester) United, Bayern, Chelsea and plenty of others, some are already calling Forest. Manchester United have already made their interest known, I think he’s top of their list of there abouts for a 6.”
