Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Liverpool forward Leanne Kiernan on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Tricky Trees this afternoon.

The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international forward has spent the last four-and-a-half years with Liverpool after joining the club from West Ham United in summer 2021. Kiernan was a member of The Reds side that won the Barclays WSL2 title back in 2021/2022 before featuring regularly for the club in the top flight. The player has a wealth of experience at the top level having made more than 100 appearances in the English professional game.

On the international stage, Kiernan has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on 43 occasions while she has scored four goals for her country.

After joining Nottingham Forest on loan, Kiernan said “I’m really pleased to have joined Nottingham Forest.

“I can’t wait to get started with this team and begin playing with this talented group of players.”

Kiernan is Nottingham Forest’s fourth signing of the January transfer window. The player could make her debut for The Tricky Trees when they travel to Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon.
