Nottingham Forest are not giving up in their pursuit of Feyenoord star Santiago Giménez. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds have made a new offer for the Mexico international worth €33m including add-ons. If Giménez were to leave De Kuip for that price, he’d become Feyenoord’s record sale.

Forest have now submitted their third bid for the player, having seen an initial €25m bid rejected last week, before having a second offer worth €30m also turned down. Feyenoord will do everything possible to keep their star striker, although Giménez is reportedly keen on the move.

Since his arrival in Rotterdam, Giménez, 23, has netted 53 times in 90 appearances for the club, making his mark as one of the best Eredivisie strikers in recent years. Last season the former Cruz Azul man scored 26 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances as the Rotterdam club finished second in the league and lifted the KNVB Cup. He played a pivotal part in Feyenoord’s 2022/23 title winning campaign as he netted 23 times.

This would be a statement signing for Nuno Espírito Santo‘s side if they’re able to pull it off before Friday’s transfer deadline. It’s still early in this transfer saga as Feyenoord are yet to respond to the new proposal, but Forest will keep pushing. A departure from De Kuip would leave Feyenoord with a huge hole to fill. They will do everything possible to keep hold of the Mexican.
