Nottingham Forest are eyeing Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otavio, with a €13m (£11m) bid being prepared, according to Globo Esporte.
Stefan Ortega and Angus Gunn will leave as free agents at the end of the month, leaving Matz Sels and John Victor as the senior options. Forest plan only minor tweaks under head coach Vitor Pereira, but a keeper is on the list.
Otavio, 20, rose through Cruzeiro after joining at 10 and became first choice after Cassio’s injury. He is under contract to 2029, and an £11m move would be the most a European club has paid for a Brazilian goalkeeper.
Forest must consider a long-term successor to Sels, who has 12 months left and has been linked with a return to Belgium. With those exits, John is the only back-up and has been linked with a move home after unconvincing displays.
Talk around Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi continues. Sport Mediaset reports this is a crucial period, Juventus have entered the race and appear to hold the edge. Frattesi has a €30m (£26m) tag, prefers to stay in Italy and is said to dream of reuniting with Luciano Spalletti.
Meanwhile, Forest have signed 18-year-old midfielder Grady McDonnell from Club Brugge on a contract to 2029. The club had tracked him and beat competition to land him, and he has represented Canada and Ireland at youth level.
