Nottingham Forest plan to reward Vitor Pereira with a new long-term contract after he kept the club in the Premier League. According to The Athletic, players and the hierarchy are satisfied and talks are now the priority, with speculation over another change dismissed.
Pereira has overseen 18 games across competitions, delivering three straight league wins in an eight-match unbeaten run that helped avert relegation.
The 2025/26 campaign could have yielded more, as Forest were knocked out of the Europa League by Aston Villa in the semi-finals after a 4-0 second-leg defeat. They responded with a 1-1 draw at Newcastle United last Sunday despite a depleted squad.
Elliot Anderson equalised against his former club and that may prove one of his last contributions in a Forest shirt, with Manchester City and Manchester United circling the 23-year-old.
Pereira said he could not say whether Anderson will stay. He added that the midfielder deserves the very top, marries outstanding talent with rare character, and honoured his mother on the pitch by running to the end.
He also noted the player was desperate to score and sharp in the warm-up, with his assistant saying Anderson looked on fire and finished almost everything.
Looking ahead, Anderson’s next focus will be the World Cup with England, while Morgan Gibbs-White hopes to join him. Gibbs-White has missed the last two matches after a facial injury but is in contention to face Manchester United this weekend, having trained in a protective mask.
