Nottingham Forest continue their chase for Champions League qualification at Ipswich Town this afternoon.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side earned a crucial 1-0 win over Manchester City last weekend to cement their place in the top four. With a FA Cup quarter-final also to come, it’s shaping up to be a potentially historic season for Forest.
The tight nature of the table means that Forest can not ease up. Just seven points separate Forest from Bournemouth in ninth in a tightly-contested battle for Europe.
Forest’s opponents, Ipswich, have endured a tough return to the top division. In their first Premier League campaign since 2001/02, the Tractor Boys have won just three games. Ipswich have not won a league fixture in 2025 and have lost seven of their last eight. However, there are just six points between Kieran McKenna’s men and 17th-place Wolves.
Forest’s fight for Champions League qualification has been boosted by a relative clean bill of health at the City Ground. Back-up goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is the only absentee due to a hamstring injury.
There has also been no change to Forest’s injury situation, and Santo should only be missing number two goalkeeper Carlos Miguel (hamstring) for the trip to Portman Road this weekend.
Morgan Gibbs-White will want to make a point to Thomas Tuchel. The midfielder was left out of this month’s England squad despite his impressive club form. Teammates Elliot Anderson and Callum Hudson-Odoi were also unfortunate to miss out.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Anderson, Dominguez; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
Ipswich host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday 15th March. Kick-off at Portman Road is 15:00 GMT.
