Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ordered to pay more than £1,100 after being convicted of keeping his McLaren untaxed.

According to Nottingham Post, the 25-year-old Nottingham Forest winger was prosecuted by the DVLA over unpaid tax on his McLaren 765LT, a model that can cost more than £400,000.

Court papers state he became the registered keeper in February 2024, with the annual tax expiring at the end of January 2025. The car remained untaxed nine months later when it was seen on Southmill Street in Manchester at 8.50am on 29 October last year.

He was offered an out-of-court settlement but did not respond, leading to a criminal case for keeping a vehicle without a valid licence.

Hudson-Odoi did not enter a plea and was convicted on April 20 at York Magistrates’ Court in a private fast-track Single Justice Procedure hearing.

Magistrate Karen Shackleton ordered a £660 fine, £410 in back tax and £85 in costs.

The conviction emerges as Hudson-Odoi prepares to miss the rest of Forest’s season following leg surgery. He joined from Chelsea in 2023 and has six goals in 43 appearances this season, along with three senior England caps in 2019.

Forest remain in relegation danger but have moved away from the drop zone in recent weeks. They also hold a 1-0 first-leg lead over Aston Villa in the Europa League semi-final.
