According to Globo Esporte, Nottingham Forest left-back Cuiabano has hinted he could head back to Botafogo after a social media message.

The 22-year-old joined Forest in the summer and was immediately loaned to Botafogo for the rest of the Serie A season, making 48 appearances with six goals and five assists in all competitions as they finished sixth.

He is due to return to the City Ground to be assessed by Sean Dyche and his coaches. Forest are currently without Ola Aina, while Oleksandr Zinchenko has returned to fitness after a couple of months out.

Botafogo are keen to have him back in 2026, and his post referenced a year of hard work and love for the shirt, adding that he felt the story was not over and thanking Botafogo and the Glorioso supporters.

Neco Williams has started at left back for the last couple of months, and Forest have yet to decide whether to keep Cuiabano in the squad or loan him again.

Should another loan be chosen, the relationship between Forest and Botafogo would make a return there appear the likeliest option.
