Nou Mestalla will enter a critical phase in August when work begins to raise the stadium roof using a synchronised system of 100 hydraulic jacks. The venue is scheduled to open in summer 2027.

According to Las Provincias, and confirmed by EFE, two jacks will be mounted on each of the 50 pillars already in place along Avenida de Cortes Valencianas, all coordinated by a computerised control to move simultaneously.

The roof will weigh 4,800 tonnes and is designed to cover 70,044 seats. It will rest on 38 metre columns weighing more than 30 tonnes each, whose installation, together with the compression ring, was completed in early June.

The elevation will be carried out progressively, centimetre by centimetre, to distribute loads evenly and avoid structural deformations.

Technicians will continuously monitor the structure’s behaviour and the tension of the cables throughout the operation.
