After a quite simply sensational South Wales derby victory at the weekend, Swansea City must capitalise on their win over Cardiff City by taking on one of the big guns of the division in West Bromwich Albion this evening.

Russell Martin’s methods finally seem to be getting results after a slow start to the campaign, and a big victory over their bitterest rivals will only breed confidence.

They face a tougher test though in the form of Valerien Ismael’s side in what is a real clash of styles – Swansea’s slick passing out from the back against a more direct team in the Baggies.

Let’s take a look at how Martin may line his Swans players up against one of the Championship’s leading sides tonight at the Liberty Stadium.

There’s every chance that an unchanged team could be named after such a dominant victory against the Bluebirds, but the creativity of Olivier Ntcham could mean that he returns to the starting line-up.

The Frenchman came off the bench in the second half against Cardiff having missed Swanseas’s last game before the international break against Derby County with a hamstring injury, but he provides an extra creative spark ahead of Korey Smith.

It would be harsh on Smith but he may remain in the side on the basis that Martin may want a more energetic and defensive-minded midfield against a strong side – but there may not be much use for that if Ismael decides to bypass the engine room with direct balls.

The majority of the side picks itself though owing to the good performance on Sunday afternoon and a similar result will be much welcomed against a side who haven’t looked too convincing in some of their recent wins.
