Nunes praises ‘incredible’ Man City transfer window | OneFootball

Manchester City right-back Matheus Nunes has been left very impressed by the club’s work in the summer transfer window.

It has been a transformative summer at the Etihad, with a number of high-profile transfers both in and out of the club.

“I think it’s incredible,” Nunes insisted on the club’s transfer activity. “The players that they brought in are so good.

“The best players of the teams that they were playing for. We are very happy to have them.”City concluded their summer business with a deadline day deal for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Argentina international made the switch for a club-record £125 million fee.

“We want to have the best players,” continued Nunes. “And Enzo is one of them. When we found out that he was signed, we were very happy.

“We want to be with the best players, and not that we didn’t already have them, but if a new player comes in, we know he’s going to add a lot of things. A lot of good things.

“We knew we had a good squad, but I mean they did amazing job with the transfer window this season.”

There has also been major change for City in the dugout, as Pep Guardiola stepped down after a decade in charge. His former assistant Enzo Maresca has now taken over the reins.

Asked about differences in the two coaches, Nunes answered: “I was with Pep for three seasons, I’ve been with Enzo for two months. I still haven’t had the time to meet him properly. Maybe in a couple of months, if you do that question again, I can answer properly.

“I feel that they’re very similar, maybe because Enzo worked with Pep in the sense of tactics, energy, a lot of passion.

“Both very passionate about being a manager. I see more similarities than differences.”
