The Norwegian winger has decided to directly address rumors surrounding his future, denying that he has requested a transfer to Leipzig and reaffirming his presence at the German club.

Nusa has quelled rumors of his desire to change clubs: “I never asked to leave Leipzig. Rumors are always there, they can write what they want. I was on vacation, now I’m here at Leipzig.”

These clear words put to rest recent reports suggesting the player has firmly opened up to the possibility of a move to Roma, writes Fabrizio Romano.

The Norwegian remains one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s top targets to strengthen the left flank, but negotiations remain particularly complicated. Leipzig’s high financial demands are now compounded by the player’s public stance, which shows no signs of forcing his hand to leave Germany.

Roma will therefore have to decide whether to attempt an assault with an offer capable of convincing the German club or definitively accelerate on one of the alternatives pursued by Tony D’Amico.
