Oeste have ceased to exist. Founded in 1921 in Itápolis, the club have re-emerged as Osasco Sporting, with a goalless draw against Ferroviária at José Liberatti in their Série A2 opener marking the new era.

According to Globo.com, Oeste officially ended on 26 December 2025, replaced by Osasco Sporting under the same Paulista federation registration. The new club has a new name, city and look, and must pay a R$ 800,000 relocation fee.

The shift followed Barueri reclaiming the training base and a company owned by Palmeiras president Leila Pereira winning the tender to run Arena Barueri, meaning rent would apply. The club sought similar terms elsewhere and Osasco offered them.

Osasco Sporting now wear blue and white and have a redesigned crest. Staff repainted the José Liberatti dugouts blue, replacing Audax’s red, which irritated locals, even though Audax maintains the ground. Rules allow name, city and identity changes, and permit two teams to share the venue.

Oeste left Itápolis in 2016 after 96 years, arguing Estádio dos Amaros could not host Paulistão and Série B games. The ground now stages mainly amateur matches and is underused, while the old fanbase dwindled amid protests.

Ernesto Garcia said the stadium was interdicted by CBF and the state federation, Barueri offered an arena and a training centre, and a return would depend on conditions in Itápolis. Former mayor Edmir Gonçalves cited a financial crisis and an inability to invest R$ four million. The club intends to become a SAF.
