Luís Castro has been sacked as manager of FC Nantes after just 15 games. He has been replaced by Ahmed Kantari.
Castro arrived from USL Dunkerque highly rated. He led the club to the Ligue 2 play-offs, as well as to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France last season. He replaced Antoine Kombouaré at the helm at Nantes, but after just two wins in 15 games, his time on the sidelines at the Beaujoire is over.
He has been replaced by Kantari, Nantes have confirmed. The Moroccan inherits a side with just 11 points, the joint-lowest in the league, alongside rock-bottom FC Metz. Kantari has been promoted from his role as assistant manager. Les Canaris have announced that Kantari is an interim manager until the end of the season.
He will be aided by assistants Eric Blahic and Stéphane Mangione, the club announced in Thursday’s press release.
