Álvaro Fidalgo has left Club América and will join Real Betis, signing until 2030. The move comes five years after his arrival at América.

According to Americayya.net, América announced his signing on 1 February 2021 at 10:00am, bringing in the 23-year-old Spanish midfielder from Castellón in Spain’s second tier.

Coach Santiago Solari was the driving force, requesting the deal, speaking directly with Fidalgo and persuading him to make his first move abroad to another continent.

Nicknamed 'Maguito', he became a club favourite and departs on a high with six trophies and 227 appearances, leaving with the affection of América’s support.

Betis are currently fifth in Spain, in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals and have qualified for the Europa League’s final phase. It is a very competitive side.

As he addressed his departure, Fidalgo said this was not a goodbye. Many América fans will be following his progress with his new club.
