Anderlecht have signed Amadou Diawara from Roma on a three-year deal.
Diawara was one of the most promising midfielders in Italy when he joined Roma from Napoli but never lived up to expectations, playing just eight league games last season.
As a result, Jose Mourinho was happy to sell him this summer and Anderlecht have taken advantage, signing him for around €2m.
He has signed a three-year contract and, if he can recapture the form he enjoyed at Napoli, could prove to be quite the signing for the Belgian club.
“I am convinced that this choice for RSC Anderlecht is the ideal step in my career,” he told their website.
“I learned a lot in the Italian Serie A, but it was time for a new challenge.
“I am very happy to be part of a team where I can share my experience and I am keen to prove myself.”
