Official: Ancelotti honoured with special award by the Italian Football Federation | OneFootball

Having enjoyed a successful 2023/24 season at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti received the best coach honours at the Ballon d’Or ceremony as well as FIFA’s The Best awards in 2024.

Now, the Real Madrid head coach has added another accolade to the list as has now been honoured by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

On Monday, at a gala held in Florence, Ancelotti received the Panchina d’Oro Speciale award for his exceptional 2023/24 season.

The Panchina d’Oro is awarded to the best Italian coaches each season following a vote coordinated by the technical department of the Italian Football Federation.

Ancelotti won it in the 2002/03 and 2003/2004 seasons and received a Panchina d’Oro Speciale in 2018.

The award reflects Ancelotti’s remarkable 2023/24 campaign with Real Madrid, where he secured the club’s 15th Champions League title, the 36th La Liga title, and the 13th Spanish Super Cup.

While Ancelotti continues to collect accolades, his future at Real Madrid has become a topic of much debate in recent months due to Real Madrid’s topsy-turvy form at times this season.

Even though Los Blancos have won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup this season, Ancelotti’s future could be under threat if he does not lead the team to a major trophy win.
