Whilst the transfer window may be closed, SCO Angers have made a joker signing in the form of Amine Sbaï (24).
The Moroccan forward, who has never played in Ligue 1, has signed a deal that runs until the summer of 2027. He arrives on a free transfer following the expiry of his deal at Saudi Arabian side Al-Fateh. He joined the Gulf State side in 2024 and during his first season made nine goal contributions in 26 appearances.
Sbaï began his career at Grenoble Foot in Ligue 2. It is there that he signed his first professional contract and played prior to the move to Saudi Arabia. However, he has yet to make his Ligue 1 debut, but now returns to France.
He comes in to reinforce an Angers attack that is struggling for goals. Esteban Lepaul’s late departure for Stade Rennais has understandably had a big impact, and with just three goals in the opening seven Ligue 1 matchdays, they have the worst attacking record in the division.
