FC Annecy have completed the signing of Aston Villa centre-back Triston Rowe (18) on a season-long loan.

Rowe has yet to make his first-team debut for Aston Villa, but has featured prominently at youth level, including in the UEFA Youth League. The right-back, also capped at U19 level for England, is set to spend the season on loan at second division side Annecy in France.

The Englishman’s move to the Haute-Savoie does not include the option to make the deal permanent. Annecy have been busy in the past couple of days. Hamza Koutoune has joined, as has Mayssam Benama, a France youth international, who has completed a permanent move from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.

Rowe, who can play at right-back or at right-centre-back, will be hoping for game time over the course of the season in order to continue his development. After four matchdays in Ligue 2, Annecy are 14th in Ligue 2, having won once, drawn once, and lost twice.
