FC Schalke 04 star Adil Aouchiche has committed his long-term future to the Bundesliga club.
Schalke confirmed on Tuesday that the Algeria international has signed a new contract running until 2030, with no release clause included.
“Adil Aouchiche improved our team from the moment he arrived. He became one of our key players during the second half of the season and played a major part in helping us win promotion to the Bundesliga," said Schalke 04 director of professional football Youri Mulder of Aouchiche, who joined the club from Sunderland in January.
"His intelligence on the pitch and outstanding technical ability, along with the quality he offers as a creator, from set pieces and in front of goal, give us every confidence that he will also be an important player for us in the Bundesliga. We also believe he still has the potential to develop even further.”
Aouchiche is equally keen to continue his journey with Schalke.
“When I arrived in the winter, I joined a team where the coaching staff and my teammates immediately showed a lot of faith in me. That’s a great feeling for any new player," he said.
“My personal aim is to perform as well as I possibly can for the team every week while continuing to improve as a player. I want to take my game to the next level as a Schalke 04 player. Over the past few months, and especially during our push for promotion, I’ve seen just how much this club means to people across the region. The support is incredible and will be hugely important for us again this season.”
