Official: Arsenal confirm signing of Christos Tzolis on long-term contract

Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, with the versatile forward putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Emirates.

The announcement brings to an end weeks of speculation surrounding the Greece international’s future. Several days ago Tzolis had informed Arsenal of his desire to join the club then there were reports that an agreement had been reached between the two clubs. The transfer has now been made official by Arsenal.

The 24-year-old arrives after an outstanding spell in Belgium, where he made 108 appearances for Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals and registering 45 assists across all competitions.

Tzolis arrives after impressive rise through Europe

Tzolis began his professional career with PAOK before earning a move to Norwich City in 2021. Although his time in England was short-lived, successful loan spells with FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf helped reignite his development before he completed a permanent switch to Club Brugge in 2024.

His impact in Belgium was immediate. Playing predominantly from the left wing, Tzolis became one of the league’s standout performers, helping Club Brugge win the Belgian Cup in 2025 before playing a key role in their Belgian Pro League title triumph the following season.

His individual performances were also recognised, with the Greek international named Belgian Pro League Player of the Season in consecutive campaigns.

On the international stage, Tzolis has earned 34 senior caps for Greece after progressing through the country’s youth ranks.

Berta backs new signing to make major impact

Sporting Director Andrea Berta believes Arsenal have added both quality and versatility to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.

“Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he’s a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team.

“We’re confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt.

“We look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter together.”

Arsenal have confirmed that Tzolis will wear the No. 17 shirt and has already linked up with his new teammates at the Sobha Realty Training Centre ahead of pre-season.

The transfer remains subject to the completion of the usual regulatory processes, but Arsenal supporters will now be eagerly anticipating seeing their newest signing in action.
