Official: Arsenal starlet signs for Deportivo | OneFootball

La Liga 2 outfit Deportivo de La Coruña have on Monday announced a head-turning signing, by way of Premier League giants Arsenal.

The player in question? Charlie Patino.

Midfielder Patino for his part spent the last nine years on the books of the aforementioned Arsenal.

At one point in his development, the England youth international was widely considered to be a future first-team star in the making, with his technical attributes of the highest standard.

Safe to say, however, that things have since not quite worked out as planned.

After spending the last two seasons on loan with Blackpool and Swansea City respectively, word was recently forthcoming that Patino was closing on a surprise move to Spain.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday, precisely as much has been confirmed.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of 2nd tier outfit Deportivo:

‘Dépor closed the signing of Charlie Michael Patiño until June 30, 2028. A renowned sportsman for years, Charlie Patiño’s willingness and desire to sign for RC Deportivo were key to our Club being able to incorporate one of the most talented and promising footballers in English football.’
