La Liga outfit Athletic Club have on Friday announed an injury setback in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Iñaki Williams is primed for an incoming spell on the treatment table.

Winger Iñaki was for his part in from the off on Wednesday, as Athletic turned focus back towards matters on the continent in a Champions League meeting with Qarabag.

When all was said and done, Ernesto Valverde’s troops emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result.

On an otherwise positive night for the Basque club, however, their captain set alarm bells sounding.

As much came upon Iñaki limping out of proceedings in evident discomfort, with what appeared to be a muscular complaint.

The Ghanaian international, in turn, was since put through a round of medical tests and scans at Lezama.

And the results of as much have since been unveiled across Athletic’s website and social media platforms, as follows:

‘Further tests confirm that Iñaki Williams has suffered a severe injury to the long adductor muscle in his right leg, which is also affecting the tendon.’

Ruled out for Saturday’s La Liga clash with Getafe, Iñaki could be facing up to a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
