Official – Bad news from PSG’s medical update

This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain released an official statement to provide an update on its injuries. Three players were expected to be mentioned: Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old right-back), Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward), and Désiré Doué (20-year-old midfielder/forward). In addition, Nuno Mendes (23-year-old left-back) is also included.

“– Achraf Hakimi is suffering from a severe sprain of the left ankle, which will result in several weeks of unavailability. – Ousmane Dembélé has sustained an injury to his left calf. He will remain under treatment for the next few weeks. – Nuno Mendes is suffering from a sprain of the left knee. He will remain under treatment for the next few weeks. – Désiré Doué is continuing his rehabilitation work. A further update will be provided after the international break.”

PSG is entering a somewhat complicated period with key players absent, and moreover, they are paired by position (2 forwards, 2 full-backs). All of this comes with a bit of bad luck, as the three injuries from last night were due to knocks or falls. PSG will have to find solutions and hope for relatively quick returns. But nothing guarantees that they will be able to play soon after the break.
