Official: Barcelona announce date for Camp Nou return | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Wednesday provided the club’s fans with a piece of news which they have long been waiting for.

This comes in the form of confirmation of the date on which they intend to return to the Spotify Camp Nou.

Barcelona have of course not taken to the pitch at their beloved home ground for over two years now.

As much comes after a major renovation project was kicked into gear, to bring the Camp Nou in line with European football’s elite stadiums.

The comeback date for official competition at the ground has since been repeatedly pushed back, giving rise to frustration on the part of those of a Blaugrana persuasion.

Such supporters, in turn, will no doubt breathe a collective sigh of relief on Wednesday.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Barcelona that Hansi Flick’s troops will mark their return to the Camp Nou on August 10th.

As much will see the Catalans take part in the annual Joan Gamper Trophy, reportedly in a meeting with Serie A outfit Como.

The matchup will be played out in front of a reduced capacity, expected to be in the region of 25,000.
