La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday announced a deal for a new addition to the club’s attacking ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana? Alan Godoy.
The name of attacker Godoy has taken its place centre stage in the Spanish media headlines throughout the January transfer window.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 21-year-old had set his sights on a winter departure from Eldense.
Highly regarded across the Spanish football landscape, a number of top-flight clubs in turn touched base with the player’s entourage, over a potential January deal.
Chief among them were Barcelona and Real Madrid, both on the lookout for fresh blood for their reserve sides.
And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, the former have officially beaten out the competition to land their man.
As per a statement across Barca Atlètic’s website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and CD Eldense have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Alan Godoy. The Canary Islander striker signs as a Barça player for the remainder of the season and two more, until June 30, 2027, and joins Barça Atlètic.’
