FC Barcelona have officially confirmed the extent of Pedri’s latest injury, bringing clarity after hours of concern following his early exit against Slavia Praha.

The club released a medical statement on the midfielder, confirming that he will be sidelined for around a month.

In their official communication, Barcelona detailed the nature of the problem and the expected recovery timeline.

“Tests carried out this morning have confirmed that Pedri has a muscle injury to the biceps femoris of his right leg, which he sustained in the match against Slavia Prague. The recovery time will be one month,” read the statement from the club.

What happened to Pedri?

The injury occurred during Barça’s 4-2 victory against Slavia Praha.

In the 60th minute, the midfielder suddenly went down on the pitch after feeling discomfort in his right hamstring.

His reaction was immediate and telling. Clearly unhappy and aware that something was wrong, he asked to be substituted straight away.

Pedri was unable to continue and headed directly to the dressing room for further examination, with Dani Olmo coming on as his replacement.

The incident took place during a counterattack, when Barcelona’s midfielders were sprinting back to defend.

During one particularly demanding run, Pedri felt a sharp pain and instantly stopped, choosing not to take any risks.

There was no attempt to play on, no hesitation, and no uncertainty.

As he left the pitch, he explained exactly how he was feeling to club doctor Ricard Pruna, who immediately advised him to go inside the stadium for a more thorough diagnosis.

Notably, the recent injury is already Pedri’s third injury of the campaign. So far, he has missed five matches in total – four due to a previous muscle tear and one because of calf discomfort.

While none of the injuries have been long-term, the repeated interruptions have prevented him from building the continuity he needs.
