FC Barcelona are currently in the international break, and one of the most awaited aspects of this period has been whether the club would return to the Spotify Camp Nou for the game against Athletic Bilbao on 22 November.
The return to the home stadium has been delayed for quite some time. What was expected to happen at the beginning of 2025 is finally set to take place at the end of it, as the club have now officially confirmed.
According to the club’s official statement via their Twitter handle, Barcelona will return to the Spotify Camp Nou against the Basque club with a capacity of 45,400. The club have received the necessary certifications for this.
Barcelona could have moved back earlier with the 1A licence, but that would have restricted capacity to just 27,000 spectators. In contrast, their temporary home at the Montjuic Stadium has almost double that amount.
Many players in the first-team squad are set to play at the Camp Nou for the first time in their careers. Earlier this month, when the club hosted an open training session at the stadium, the turnout and the atmosphere were fantastic.
With the return of players such as Raphinha and Joan Garcia from injury, the expectation is for Barcelona to return to their permanent home with a win over Ernesto Valverde’s side. Let us hope everything pans out like a dream and that the club make a successful return to the Spotify Camp Nou.
