It has allowed them to consolidate their position at the top of the La Liga standings, especially with Real Madrid ending up dropping valuable points in the title race.

It has led to Barcelona manager Hansi Flick earning a nomination for the La Liga Coach of the Month for March.

The 61-year-old tactician finds himself running up against Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and Luis Castro of Levante UD in the race for the prize.

Meanwhile, another key Barça personnel, winger Lamine Yamal, has been nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month for March.

The 18-year-old attacking sensation scored a hat-trick against Villarreal and followed it up with the match-winning goal against Athletic Club at San Mames.

Lamine will be competing against Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, Villarreal’s Santi Comesana, Goncalo Guedes of Real Sociedad, and Carlos Espi of Levante for the honour.

The voting lines are already open and it will be interesting to see if Flick and Lamine end up winning the prizes.
