Official: Barcelona learn their opponents for 2025/26 Copa del Rey quarter-finals | OneFootball

After eliminating Racing Santander at El Sardinero in the Round of 16 last week, Barcelona have learnt their opponent for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in the draw held today.

And the reigning Copa del Rey champions will continue the defence of their trophy against Albacete.

Barcelona, being one of the four teams that participated in the Spanish Super Cup, entered the Copa del Rey at the Round of 32 and had been paired only against lower league opponents up until this point in the competition.

Now, with the title just four matches away, that condition no longer applies. The quarter-final draw was effectively open, with the only restriction being that Albacete were guaranteed home advantage as the lowest-ranked team remaining.

Barcelona’s possible opponents for the quarter-finals were Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Alaves, Valencia, and Albacete, responsible for the biggest shock of the tournament after knocking out Real Madrid.

And the current holders of the trophy will now face Albacete in the quarter-finals of the competition. The game will take place at Estadio Carlos Belmonte home stadium.

As mentioned previously, Albacete made it to the quarter-finals after defeating Barça’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid, 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

The quarter-finals will be played on February 3, 4, and 5, with the exact schedule set to be confirmed imminently.
