Barcelona and Argentina icon Lionel Messi has put pen to paper on a new contract with MLS outfit Inter Miami.

And in the process, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner appears to have confirmed his intention to continue his playing days for some time yet.

Frontman Messi has of course been plying his trade in the USA for the last two years.

Following a short stint on the books of Paris Saint-Germain in the aftermath of his iconic Barcelona spell, the ‘GOAT’ – in the eyes of most – linked up with the aforementioned Inter Miami.

His time in Florida was expected to prove somewhat short-lived, owing chiefly to Messi’s advancing years.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest developments at Chase Stadium are anything to go by, then the World Cup winner evidently does not intend to hang up his boots any time soon.

This comes amid confirmation that Messi has signed a new contract with Inter Miami, all the way through December of 2028, at which point he will be 41 years of age.
